Amazon lists this cup as a "new". When the tap was noticed that the quality of Kohler seal has been damaged in the field. Of course, someone already opened the box. When I opened the box, each handle and the cup are well packed in protective bags depreciated but all three components had significant cuts them down to bare metal. Since these were in protective bags, I was sure it was not damaged during shipment. This particular faucet that Amazon has been sent to me or the factory or rejected. Either way Amazon does not need to be a new ad. I have not had any problems with returning it to Amazon for a full refund.
First I want to say, the beauty of this faucet gets a 5

Amazon has sent us 2 of these faucets. Both times the quality Kohler seal was broken and both times either the faucet handles or the faucet itself were scratched. After the second time of this happening, Amazon apologized and stated they would not be able to replace it for the third time. Apparently this is a continuing problem with these faucets.
I do not blame Amazon for these problems, although sending what might have been previous returns out to customers is bad business practice. The reason I do not place the blame on Amazon is because I feel this is actually Kohler’s fault. We have since re-ordered through Home Depot and had the same problem, we are now waiting on our 4th try and hopefully it will arrive without any scratches.
I contacted Kohler and told the customer service rep about the problems we’ve been experiencing trying to get this faucet and they were wonderful, sending us 2 new “handles.” I just hope that when our 4th one arrives tomorrow that if there are scratches, the handles Kohler sent us will be able to save us from returning yet another one and trying for the 5th time.
This is a GORGEOUS faucet and I think will be worth it all in the long run, but be patient and expect to have some problems. I would actually recommend contacting Kohler directly if you have problems and have them send you replacement parts instead of doing like we have and keep sending the whole thing back.
I hope Kohler gets their act together soon and packages these better.
My Devonshire faucet and accessories are beautiful, but the cup is a problem. To get the temperature of water for hand washing, I have to turn on hot water the whole way and only a little cold water. Kohler sent new valve when contacted them about this problem, but the situation is the same, following its installation. A friend in another building also won the same cup, and has the same problem. Someone else?
